Vocabulary / Shoes / Sneakers
3 Main ways to classify a sneaker, High top, Mid top and Low Top. These terms refer to how far up your ankle the ‘shaft’ of the shoe goes.
High top – Shoes where the height goes past your ankle
Mid top – Shoes where the height goes below your ankle
Low top – Shoes where the height goes right to your ankle
Casual – Usually refers to a non sporty looking shoe in a sneaker shape. Typically simple colors like just plain white leather or suede.
Running shoe – Low top shoes meant for running or walking around. Typically the most comfortable type of shoe due to the flexible and breathable materials used.
Skate shoe – High top shoes with a flat grippy sole meant to help with not falling off a skateboard.
Training / Gym shoes – Similar to running shoes but provide more stability and cushion in the heel. Flatter sole than running shoes.
Walking – Similar to running shoes but with more subtle designs. Good for casual environments where you still need to be on your feet all day, such as a being nurse.
