Vocabulary / Jewelry / Rings
Band – A simple ring usually without any elevated stone in it. However can still have things embedded in the ring but will be flush inside.
Dome – A ring that is wide all around with a dome shape at the top. Can house a gem as well.
Gimmel – A ring with multiple connecting bands that join together for one ring.
Stackable – a term for (usually) much thinner rings designed to have multiple stacked together on one finger. When buying be careful about the size as they are made a bit larger
Solitaire – a band with a large single gemstone. Sometimes larger centerpieces will be called statement rings.
Split / disconnected / adjustable – A ring that isn’t closed. This leaves ample space to be resized as well.
Spinner – A thicker ring with another ring or beads on the outside that can spin around. the main band. Great for those that fidget.
Wrap – A ring that is coiled around the finger without being connected at the ends.
