Bangle – A bracelet that forms a full circle and doesn’t have a clasp, sometimes has a hinge to close it. Usually made of non flexible material.
Bar – A bracelet with a metal bar in the center that can be engraved. Can use any clasp or closure mechanism.
Beaded – A bracelet with beads, spherical things attached in some kind of pattern. Can be made of plastic or other materials like pearls.
Charm – A bracelet which has a charm(s) attached to it such as a heart. These charms are sometimes interchangeable and can be purchased on their own to attach to any bracelet.
Cable – Bracelets made of steel meant to resemble suspension cables. Usually not very flexible and usually a cuff.
Cuff – A cuff bracelet is similar to a bangle but has an open space to slide onto your wrist rather than go completely over your hand. They do not have clasps.
Expanding / Stretch – Bracelets that change in size despite hugging your wrist through an interlocking mechanism. These are frequently found in medical bracelets and watches.
Link – A bracelet made of links/chains of any size and style. Huge variety of the types of links that exist. Typically metallic.
Multi Strand – Bracelets that consist of multiple ‘bracelets’ in one.
Rolling bangle – A type of bangle bracelets with multiple rings that interlock with each other to create an interlocked rolling effect when worn.
Slider – An adjustable bracelet with a closure that slide to the end, without linking with ends which leaves 2 little tails. Works as a one size fits all.
Station – A bracelet with spaced out gems/other stones along a chain bracelet.
Tennis – Symmetrical bracelet consisting of fine metals and real gemstones in a straight line, usually silver and diamonds.
Wrap – Bracelets that typically go around your wrist multiple times and/or use a string to tie as a closure.
